Beginning in 2022, Professor Tiffany Edwards launched the Unsolved Case Project by connecting academia with law enforcement. Students in the Forensic and Investigative Science Department at West Virginia University are given the opportunity to apply for research. This specific research allows them to look through real cold casefiles and bring a new perspective. Over the past three years, students have been able to share about a couple of cases they have worked on under the guidance of Professor Edwards. One cold case surrounds the story of Joan Ann Charlton and the other around Milton David Harrod.
