Emma Chase

MS Student

Emma Chase is a first-year master's student working in Dr. Iyengar's research group. Her research focuses on predicting surface soil provenance in North-Central West Virginia using DNA metabarcoding.

Emma is from Fishers, Indiana. She originally attended Indiana Institute of Technology before transferring to West Virginia University in 2022 where she obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Forensic Biology in August of 2024. She is a graduate teaching assistant here in the forensic science department and is assisting in the forensic molecular genetics course, forensic biology course, biological evidence course, gravesite course, introductory forensic courses, as well as the capstone courtroom course here at WVU. She is currently working in Dr. Iyengar's group as a first year master's student and is researching predicting soil provenance using DNA metabarcoding.
