Crime Scene Training Complex
West Virginia University has the largest crime scene training complex in the country consisting of four crime scene houses, a vehicle processing garage, a ballistics test center, and special outdoor venues surrounding the houses. This facility allows students to receive training in the analysis of simulated crime scenes, vehicle processing, and forensic ballistics. The complex is the laboratory setting for the two crime scene investigation courses. This complex is also used to train professionals as a part of the Forensic Science Academy for Professionals.
The forensic photography laboratory is located in Crime Scene House 4. This new facility houses a complete photography studio for taking photographs of forensic evidence under all light conditions.
