Welcome from the Chair

Thank you for your interest in forensic science at West Virginia University. We are home to one of the largest, most respected, most comprehensive forensic science departments in the United States.

Accredited since the early 2000’s, we are celebrating 20 years of excellence in forensic science education. In addition to three undergraduate BS programs (forensic investigation, Forensic Chemistry, and Forensic Biology), we offer a research-based accredited MS and one of only two forensic science PhD degrees in the United States.

Collectively, the faculty has over 300 years of experience working in forensic laboratories and our undergraduate program includes a summer internship experience.

Students graduate from WVU’s forensic science program as forensic professionals. Our latest data on job placement (2018) shows that 90% of our graduates found work in their field or advancing their studies in graduate or professional schools.

The skill, reputation, and faculty at WVU will carry you to great things. We look forward to seeing you soon on campus! In the meantime, feel free to contact us for more information.
