On Saturday, August 15, 2015, 112 freshmen in the Forensic and Investigative Science Program arrived at the Crime Scene Complex to test their observational skills during the WVU First Year Academy.
Students were divided into groups of four or five to examine four mock crime scenes that had been set up in the crime scene houses and garage. These groups had one minute to analyze each scene and take mental notes.Once students had investigated all four scenes, each group completed a 20 question quiz that tested their ability to recall minute details. Two groups (pictured above) answered 13 of the 20 questions correctly, earning them the winning title.
These activities taught the students the importance of teamwork and attention to detail all while having fun.
