Seminar: Dr. James Wayman

Dr. James Wayman will be visiting the department and giving two seminars in 220 Oglebay Hall, one at 10:30 AM entitled “A Closer Examinations of the Use of Likelihood Ratios in Forensic Testimony” and the other at 4 PM entitled “The Current and Historic Legal and Scientific Status of Forensic Speaker Recognition in the U.S.”

Dr. James Wayman is a Senior Fellow in the Office of Research at San Jose State University and Director of the Biometric Identification Research Program also at San Jose State University. He is currently interested in witness testimony and validating forensic methods for evaluation and identification application. He often talks about the challenges in adoption of biometric identification and its current uses in around the world.
